Can't Get a Blue Light

Post by Jason »

OK, I was hoping for some assistance here. I recently installed a Magicjack on this computer. I had blue light and thought I was ready to go. I got a message saying I needed to wait for an activation email. From reading this board I am not sure why as I see no mention of anyone else getting one. Ok, I get the email and it gives me the phone number and so on. Since that time, I can't get a steady blue light and the Magicjack won't work. I have tried everything. I have talked to the techs. I have tried numerous USB ports. Everything that's been suggested I have done. My OS is Vista but I downloaded the patch. I have even tried the Magicfix button the MJ site. Also, I get emails telling me I have voicemails which are there when I open the attachments. Help me please.

Did you run the MJ recovery program?

I tried it in all 3 ports and no luck. Thank you for the suggestion though. Anyone else got any ideas?

Yep, what i would do is givie it a nice smack....if that doesn't work then contact chat support...tell then that you already tried all the fixes and they will send ya a new one. I know the smacking sounds crazy but it worked for me.

I was hoping that wasn't the case. I plan to continue to play with it, but may have to exchange it. Thank you. Any other suggestions would be appreciated from anyone.

FWIW I got the same message but never received an activation email. My MJ continues to work (most of the time  )

There is a new unannounced software upgrade to download on the website. Make sure you are using a powered USB port. Try a port on the back of your computer.

No Blue Light

Post by TomInVT »

I have 2 XP systems and magicJack works fine on them. But the system I really want to use is Vista and the blue light will not light. I have used a powered USB hub and plugs on the processor box with no success. I have run the Vista update, the recovery program and the magicFix program. Still no blue light!

Any ideas.

I had this same problem for about 2 weeks or so, don't know why it started working again but I just plugged it in and let it cycle through the "unrecognized usb device" error and maybe after 10 or 15 min it hasn't happened since. I ran the MJ recovery right after it turned back on too.
