MJ dialing contact list numbers by itself

This has happened twice, now.

My MJ is on an HP T5710 without a keyboard/mouse/monitor.

My mom called and asked if we had just called her, because our picture showed up on her cell phone, but when she answered there was no one on the line.

Fired up TeamViewer and sure enough, MJ had dialed out. But we had both been sitting near, but not using, the phone. No kids to play pranks.

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced "phantom" outbound phone calls.

It's possible it could be a USB power problem. Try another port or a powered hub.

Someone posted a problem like this before.
S/he was complaining that MJ was dialing a certain 800 number at the same time everyday.
Apparently, it was the phone connected to the MJ making the calls by itself.
When dissconneted, the issue stopped.
Perhaps this might be your problem?

Is it dialing contacts programmed into the magicjack itself, or listed on the phone? How often does this happen, and has it only called your Mother or other people listed on your contact list? Do these calls show up on your call log?

It has only happened twice, two different people, both on the contacts list. I have pretty much the same list in the phone and in MJ. I hadn't considered that it might have been the phone.

It happens rarely, maybe once a month. Not something I can reproduce at will.

If it actually becomes a problem I'll just clear out the contacts list and fill it with the numbers of people I don't like. (hmm, maybe I better wait until we get IP Spoofing again before I try that one...)
