I doubt there's any such thing as a "clean" install of Windows 7. They haven't shipped an official beta, have they?

Their is a beta of Windows 7 that is out and is available if you know where to look on the net. And yes, you can do a clean install of Windows 7 in the same way that you can clean install any other operating system.

If it didn't come from Microsoft, it isn't an official beta. Thus it is pre-beta.

I imagine MagicJack has done little (if any) testing W7 and has surely not added it to their list of "supported" operating systems. I don't think anyone has at this stage.

Semantics aside, I haven't heard of a successful MJ on Windows 7, yet.

But with Vista it was just a matter of USB drivers. I would imagine it is the same for you on Windows 7. It doesn't want to communicate with the MJ dongle using its current USB drivers.

Not that this helps you get it running. Good luck. :)

Well I tried it on an MS employees computer (my cousin) and it didn't work right.... The drivers weren't installing and some crap failed... it was a few weeks ago so i forget the exact error it was giving... but it didn't work...

P.S the stuff on bittorrent is crap (windows 7 wise)

Works for me

I just installed Windows 7 and installed the Vista update for the Magic Jack. I just picked up my phone and received a dial tone. It appears to be working just fine.

***False positive. I tried to make a call but just get dead air after I dial.

If you say so. But you are incorrect. The official beta has been leaked out on the net and yes, it is the official beta that just came out.
