Well,
I finally had my first major problem with MagicJack. I lost the dial tone, and went crazy.
I was looking at the device manager, and notice under Sounds, the USB Audio Device, with a yellow !, while checking under properties it says "Internet Phone by Tigerjet is not working"
I right click on the device and uninstalled, and then did a "Scan for Changes" and it found and reinstalled the USB Audio Device, and the dial tone came back, the telephone is working fine again.
Below is what the driver info read...
The USB Audio Device, Internet Phone by TigerJet is not working. "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (code19)
I think this fix should be placed in the Wiki, and hope it helps other who lost their dial tone. I'm Happy!!!

I'll second this advice for 'No Dial Tone' problems
I had the same problem. No dial tone, but I could dial from the telephone. However, when I hung up, it would not end the call. Also, I could not hear anything from the telephone.
I checked the device manager, and found the same thing: A USB Audio Device, with a yellow '!' Under properties it said "Internet Phone by Tigerjet is not working."
I uninstalled it, ran the "Scan for Changes," then let windows do an automatic search for drivers. Poof. Works like a charm.
Please, do sticky this or something...
Wish I would have gone to these forums first instead of spending more than an hour with MJ Tech chat...

I always "safely remove hardware" any of my USB device when I had the dial tone problem, but you never know. Its more possible you might lose your telephone directory since the I believe the file is read/write when the softphone is active.grw wrote:Could this problem be caused by not properly closing the dongle (safely remove hardware) before removing it from the USB port?
If so, I am living on borrowed time, since I remove it all the time by simply unplugging it.
