See the wiki FAQ answer: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/MagicJack/ ... hubs.22.3F

It may be a good idea to protect poorly designed USB circuitry from MJ's high power requirement. And, it often fixes problems associated with handset use.

READ????? Come on Mark you know that is asking to much of "some" people here. :) Why that is ALMOST the same as asking them to search!

Call him and read it to him, sheesh :) THEN order it for him..

Always love reading your posts. Always a laugh and always something to learn. In fact many times I am about to reply to someone and see you beat me to it :)

Keep up the good help...

Their web page says they'll have it in a week or two. It also says they have another one they recommend for MJ. It has a 1amp power supply instead of a 2amp for the out-of-stock item. If it were me, I'd wait a week or two.

Any powered hub with a beefy power supply should work. I think the risk of purchasing a powered USB hub is that they may skimp on the AC adapter's power capacity. But, I suppose the hub itself could have circuitry to limit power to any port. So, if it were me, I'd just wait a week or two for the one that's been known to work with MJ.

The seller also sounds like a good person. "Iselblue" bought one and posted here that he thought it was broken. He received a response from the seller explaining how the LED lights work. Considering it's only a $18 product (the AC adapter is probably worth that much), the buyer was impressed with the time the seller spent explaining things to him.
