Saving default audio device in Vista

Post by smokozuna »

You guys with Windows Vista, How do you get your default audio device to stick? Every time I set my default audio device to my Realtek High Definition Audio, hit OK, then restart, it defaults back to USB Audio Device which is my magicJack. Which means I have no sound from my desktop speakers until I set the default back to my Realtek High Definition Audio Device. Do I really have to do this every time I restart my PC? Is there a way to get it to permanently save the defaults I selected? I have used magicJack for over a year with Windows XP and never ran into a problem like this.

I have the same problem with MJ on Windows 7. MJ always set as "Default Device" after reboot. Funny thing is same computer boots into Vista and the audio defaults are always correct.
