my sunrocket mta6328 is working great. only a couple questions for help.
The phone light is blinking slow on the unit. I think this means that i have voice mail. I have cleared all voice mail and it still flashes. any ideas?
Also this has just developed. when i first get dial tone, i get approx 11 quick dialtone beeps then it goes into a steady dial tone. The unit still operates. you can even make a call starting during the beeping dialtones and not have to wait for the steady tone. Any adeas?
also we found that when attending a conf call, it would hang up after about 2 minutes if no one was speaking. you can telnet into it and there is an option that fixes this. it is called voice suppression (Y, or N)
thanks Tom

Re: sunrocket questions
The quick beeps is called a stutter dial tone and indicates waiting voicemail. This is consistent with the slowly blinking light.Tom123 wrote:The phone light is blinking slow on the unit. I think this means that i have voice mail. I have cleared all voice mail and it still flashes. any ideas?

Your device thinks that you have waiting voicemail. If you don't, then you have a clearly defined problem to solve.
Tom,
You're going to have to Search around the forum or read through the postings to find proper discussions on MWI problems and their possible solutions. I remember reading that other people have trouble getting their non-approved devices to recognize the MWI Reset tag that MJ generates, possibly because it is non-standard.
As for Silence Suppression, I recommend you turn it off unless you need to have it. The only reason to turn it on is to reduce your bandwidth consumption (not the rate) if you have a very small monthly cap. I have heard of folks in Pakistan, for instance, who have 100MB monthly caps, so they need to invoke this feature. Silence Suppression will cause the other party to hear silence instead of white noise when you are not speaking, which may cause the other party to frequently confirm with you that the call has not dropped.
