New to this MJ and need some help with Thin Clients
Hello, I am new to MJ and I found out about thin clients. Well will using one get me cut off from MJ? And I was looking on ebay for one and looking 4 the lows cost one becouse I am on a very limited income right now (that why I am using MJ). I found this one http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-T5710-800MHz-256 ... 1|294%3A50
Hi,
A thin client is a great option. $79 plus $9.98 shipping is a pretty good price for a T5710. People have gotten a MJ to work on 256/256 but you might want to consider a TC with 512/512 memory. Still, it'll work with 256/256. If you are in the US, seems you can get memory inexpensively including shipping.
See the discussion dedicated to Thin Clients. There are extremely detailed instructions on how to set up a TC.

So with this machine I can buy memory from http://www.4allmemory.com/ and just install it? If so what kind will it take?
Check the 3rd discussion group in these forums http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/ it's 100% devoted to thin clients, setup, memory, tweaks, etc. A ton of info there. I don't know about the vendor you mentioned. Others have posted sources of memory that are confirmed to work in HP thin clients. Go with their recommendations as some memory doesn't work in TCs.kai1211 wrote: If so what kind will it take?
