Hello all,
I've got magicjack SIP credentials extracted and working well with an RTP300 ATA. I was wondering if there was anyone who could recommend some modifications to my ATA setup to allow for caller id name passing either on incoming or outgoing. The changes would have to be made in the ATA settings as this would not be run through a computer.
I've been searching this forum and see references to possibilities but they all seem to involve asterisk or spoofing software that is not an option when keeping this all on the rtp300.
If i have missed the right thread, please point me in the right direction.
Thanks for our help,
Frank

As you read through this forum, or any other VoIP forum, you will learn the terminology of the industry. This includes the fact that a VoIP SIP server (what MJ calls a proxy server) is the device that allows you permission to complete a call and manages the billing for that call. Sure, you can use a free SIP server from another service provider (fwd.pulver.com is a good one), but you will not be able to use it to place any calls to MJ destinations.
