is there any way to kep my vonage phone #?

Not through MagicJack. You would need to find a 3rd party to transfer your # to. MJ has been telling us number porting will be coming in 3 more months for a few years now

Phonenumberbank.com is a little pricey at $10/mo, but you can forward that number to anywhere you like. If you can find a VOIP or service that has free forwarding and cheap monthly rates, the transfer to them.

voicestick.com will port your number for free and it only cost you 1 dollar a month for there service. You pay per call that you forward the vonage number to the MJ number. So far I have been using them and it has worked out for me. It's a very cheap alternative if you want to keep your vonage number.

I ported my old # to voicestick too. However, I did not forward it and instead just left a message telling people my new number. I was going to forward, but they would have charged it as outgoing minutes. Luckily, I got in on it before they started charging $1/mo. Paid them $10 for incoming call credits back in April 2008 and haven't paid them anything since. Anytime someone leaves me a message (usually automated systems), I get charged a small amount for the short incoming call which goes against my $10 credit.

You know I haven't been charged a monthly charge off the 10 initial payment either. Hmm maybe the forgot about me

Either way it has worked very well for what I want them to do.

they are not getting very good reviews now either.

Where do you see they charge you a dollar for incoming calls? Plus they are not the company that owns your phone number. A company called Intrado is the one that owns the number. As for the reviews the reason people are jumping off the bandwagon is because Bruce N left the company and people tend to follow someone who posts on forums and works for a company.

I signed up for phonenumberbank 9 months ago and I still haven't been charged anything by them.
