Receiving Free Faxes Internationally.

Since I travel to different Countries, and I need to send and receive faxes using just a small laptop.
Knowing that most of the people use some of the following services I find that someone will be able to use some information in here.
All those services are 100% Free with no limit to the pages you can receive or the time it will takes for the call. The more and the longer your call are the better for them because the calling party is the one that pay for the termination. That's why they give you a free service.
In each one you will get a free Fax Number.

I am going to show you different way to do it and they are all very reliable.

First let’s start with the ways to receive Faxes.

1. K7.net

Here you will get a free number from WA 206 area call.

• First you will need to go our web site at www.k7.net to register.
• Enter your email address.
• The K7 attachment will arrive as “tif" file extension.

After you sign up just go to your Modify Settings page and. mark the following just for Fax.
How would you like to receive your messages?
Receive messages via my email only

How would you like your account set up?
Fax only (fax tone only, no message)

It will take about two minutes to get your number working. It is very reliable if you don’t mind the out of state number but you have to be sure you get a fax at least once a month or your number will be disconnected. You can always get a new one.


2. jConnect

Here you will get a free number from WA like K7.net
They also have a free program that you can download to read your faxes.
This service is pretty much like K7 but it wont let you setup for faxes only, it will be like an automatic answering machine where you can receive voice messages and faxes delivered to the email of your choice.
Here also you have to make sure you call this number at least once a month or you will loose your number.


3. eFax

Here you will get a free number closer to your area call or your state, but remember that big Co don’t mind sending faxes to any numbers in the US, so you don’t really need a local number.
This is a more dedicated server for faxes only and like K7 or jConnect will delivered you faxes to the email of your choice.
BTW if you go to their home page this link for a free service will not show up.
They also have like jConnect a free program for reading your faxes.
I got myself a free NY number with area call 607!!
This probably will be my # 1 choice because of more choices of area calls but I got great luck with K7.
Unlike K7 and jConnect you will never loose your number on eFax if you don’t call it once a month.



4. Callcentric + IPKall

Having mentioned the services above there is no need to get faxes in this way but maybe someone will like to experiment a little. It works well and you will get your faxes delivered to the email of your choice.

To get this done just go to the Callcentric link above an open a free account.
Login to your account go to the PREFERENCES tab.
General Set Call treatments: to “on”
Fax Set E-mail alert: On with attachment
Set Delete fax after sending e-mail: Yes
Set Send alert to: Email of your Choice ([email protected])

Then go to CALL TREATMENTS Tab edit it and set.

Redirect call to: Fax

After that go to the IPKall link above and sign up for a free account:

Account type: SIP
Choose Area Code for your IPKall Number: 206 (This area call is best for Faxing)
SIP Phone number: (Your Callcentric Number something like 1777XXXXXXX)
SIP Proxy: in.callcentric.com
Password: (Choose any Password) Thank you mberlant.

After that you should be able to receive faxes.
If you call your number from your cell or any phone you should be able to here the fax machine.

The service I am referring to is totally free. Just make sure you you go to the link I paste and subscribe to a free service.

MOA, MagicDump was telling us about eFax's free service offering and how to reach its web page. The premium service is very good to know, but not free.

MagicDump, the password you put in your IPKall account is for you to get into your IPKall account manager portal. It is not transmitted to CallCentric. Thank you for a great post (which the Admin will probably move to The Lounge). I have been wanting to gather this information for quite a long time.
