Ahhh damnit!

Post by Banna »

It was working fine until today! I got a busy signal everytime I call it and after restarting the prog, it seems to be stuck at this stage " starting, please wait...", saying not registered, and when I tried magic fix, it said that it could not connect to my MJ...
I've installed my logitech quickcam fusion last night...also, it was the last time MJ seemed to work. I wonder if that had anything to do with this MJ not working
Someone please help

I had he same issue after losing my internet connection and thought I'd give their support (magicfix) a try.
http://www.magicjack.com/site/magicfix.html

I ended the processes they mentioned, rebooted, and all is well again.

Open task manager (control+alt+delete) and click the tab named processes. Locate and end the following processes: UTSCSI, NEWNET_SETUP, MAGICJACK, and MAGICJACKLOADER. If one or several of these are not listed, do not worry. Now unplug your magicJack, wait 15 seconds, and plug it back in.

So what happened to you ron? Did you do anything to it prior to MJ failure?
I'm uninstalling my logitech quickcam fusion, unplugged the MJ and replugged it back in, the GUI says "ready to call" but I can't make call still, used the magic fix but got a red X on "we could not access your MJ"
By the way, my internet connection is fine all day and night.
I waited for the chat tech support for half an hour now and nothing from them yet. So much for saving money with the MJ

Banna,

"we could not access your MJ"

You can get this in IE7 if you have "Protected Mode On".

While running the Fixit program temporally turn it off.

In the low right status bar of your browser double click on "Protected Mode ON" in the resulting Pop Up window un-check enable protected mode. Fix-it should now be able to do what it needs to do after your thru turn the protection back on.

It is an M$ security issue to prevent Java (and others) from doing things that make M$ security nervous.

PS - This only applies to Vista, in XP you may just try lowering the the Internet security level to the lowest level and see what happens.

I tried all that man. Can't even click on the link they told me to click on to get an RMA. It leads to the magicfix page. Tricky! I have Vista Ultimate yes, but I did all I could. Got a hold of some chat tech named Victoria, she told me to download DivX and all to check, then reboot my modem for 3 mins saying it will solve my problem...etc. Of course, it did not work and I think she tricked me to get off the chat line. Now I am back on waiting for another tech to help me out. spoke to two and nothing is fixed. At this point, I just want an RMA to get rid of this suppose to be "wonderful" gatget.
