All Kinds of Problems in Columbus, Ohio

Post by CharlieRC »

I have had my MJ for a couple of months now and it has worked perfectly until the last week or so. Now calls are dropped, don't go through or just don't call at all. I have done all the normal maintenance on this end and based on other people having similar issues I am convinced the problem is on MJ's side. Either the last software update was buggy or their servers are just over capacity.

People on the help desk have no clue and act as if you are the only one having this problem. I don't think I will be renewing my service.

I'm with you man. My MJ used to work great. Nothings changed on my end and now the thing works half the time. The customer service tech chat is a joke..try another usb port, run the upgrade, get a new computer.

Hey I have an idea, why don't you monkeys search for my call or do a real time capture..

I'm about to throw my Magic Jack away and do Time Warners triple play. I'm going to find a way to talk to someone there who can troubleshoot this properly though.

So fricking frustrated. Works sometimes then others it doesn't. Bet on it, it's their network.

Same old Problem

Post by CharlieRC »

As I said before, MJ has a problem and the least they could do is recognize it and make their call center aware of it instead of everyone spending a lot of time trying different things.

My MJ was working great until recently. I am running on a dedicated Windows XP SP3 machine with a powered USB hub and using the same phone I always used. I have high speed (cable) ISP with little traffic.

Maybe the first time someone has to call 911 or misses an emergency call they will pay attention.

You're not the only one. See the four page post just below. I'm in Columbus and haven't been able to use my MJ for a week now.

mj problems in OHio

Post by lockmaster »

Are Ohio MJ owners having more problems than others? Based on what I am reading we are having similar problems with MJ..and it has happened suddenly. Maybe if the MJ engineers read this it might give them a clue of the continuing problems. Wonder could it be their servers or as others suggested, defective magic fix downloads. They better get their act together before another potentially good idea goes down the tube.

The problem is definitely still occurring in Kentucky where I live. As mentioned by everyone else is becoming a real pain. MJ refuses to acknowledge they have a problem when you call their support! Hopefully get it straightened out soon or else I'll certainly be looking for something else. As a point of reference I haven't downloaded any upgrades recently that could be causing the problem.

mj is back up in columbus

Post by lockmaster »

Suddenly on a Friday afternoon MJ started working again on my pc and/or thin Client. Apparently it was the MJ servers/software at the heart of the problems. This was discussed with customer service (customer care) earlier this past week. I certainly hope the others in Ohio and Ky who had this problem are also up and running. I hope they provide this forum with a new status report on their particular status... Meanwhile I am crossing my fingers ......that MJ will stay up and running..

I am out SE Ky,and been having the same problems here too, seems like they have resolved the issue here for now because it appears to be functioning normally again,I wish that they would inform users on their web site when the systems are undergoing maintenance or upgrading, that would have saved me and others from frustration & grief on the unnecessary and futile trouble shooting aspect of it.

Much Better

Post by CharlieRC »

Here in Columbus it appears things have gotten better. I haven't done any extensive tests but the few calls I have made are now going through. Let's hope this problem has been resolved. :D
