MJ calling google talk or googel talk calling MJ

Post by js3j »

I would like to call someone's magic jack with my google talk...Is there any way to do that? (or vise versa)

I know that they both use the same protocol - RTP.

Just dial the user's phone number, like any other phone call.

MJ does not support inbound or outbound SIP URI calling.

"Just dial the user's phone number, like any other phone call."

-From google talk you can dial a regular phone number? How?
I had assumed that I definitely could not dial a regular land-line, but that Magic Jack, since it really just like google-talk before the call is routed to a regular phone system, should be possible.

How would I call a regular phone from google-talk?

You can't. And Google Talk's jingle protocol is incompatible with SIP, so even if MJ supported inbound SIP URI calling, Google Talk would not be able to create such a call.
