I am currently on vacation in China and staying at my girlfriends apartment. I gave her my Laptop Computer and bought another magicJack, so we both will be able to make phone calls to each other when I return to the USA. We have dial tone, but when making phone calls there is a constant buzzing noise. The internet is through a DSL connection. Currently DSL is the only connection avaliable at her new apartment and maybe later in the year a direct cable broadband connection will be available. Two apartment buildings away from her lives her sister and husband that have an older apartment and a direct cable connection and magicJack works great. We have tested MJ with other computers with DSL and have the same noise problem and have tested other computers with a direct cable broadband connection and MJ works great. Does anyone here know how we can solve the noise problem using a DSL connection? I use magicJack in America and it has work great for me with my cable connection. I want both myself and my girlfriend to use MJ from China to the USA and vise versa. I am sure there is a way to make this ADSL connection with a clear sound. Please help me!

Buzzes like that do not come from the particular internet connection, which is digital, but from the telephone connection, which is analog.
FCC Part 15 Class B requires the MJ dongle to tolerate spurious radiation. Unfortunately, that only means that it must keep working, which it does, and does not mean that it must suppress the received interference, which it does not.
Is the telephone instrument (or cordless base) near something that might be giving off the buzz, like a cell phone in a charger, a wireless router, or a fluorescent light? Or, is the cord between the MJ and the telephone dressed near something like that?
Another thing you can try is to wrap the MJ dongle in aluminum foil and ground it to something handy, like the frame of the USB connector. You'll not be able to see that lovely blue light, but if the interference is coming in through the case it might suppress the buzz you hear.
