Make one call then MagicJack needs restarted

Post by hooverbw »

I a running my MagicJack on a dedicated WinXP computer that does nothing but run MagicJack as a service. I am able to make one call and then it is unusable and I have to restart the MagicJack panel in order to place any more calls. This has been going on for a couple months now. I have replaced all the networking equipment and even the computer that runs the MagicJack. My wife is about ready to throw the phone and not use it any longer. We have not had very reliable service with MagicJack. Can someone please help? Thank you.

If you have dedicated a PC to just the MJ, why are you running the softphone as a service?

I am running it as a service so that I guarantee the MagicJack is loaded and working every time I have to restart the computer, which is about once every two days in order to get the phone service working again. My wife does it during the day so I have set it up to be as easy to use and restart as possible.

I have this problem but only when I'm running "dongle-less" on my laptop. Sometimes I have to redial 4-5 times to get a call to complete. Sometimes I have to do a restart and then I'll get a completion on the 1st try. I almost never have this problem if I have the dongle plugged in.
