email activation
Have new magicJack & it is working great except for one problem. When I installed, I had to give my email address. Fine, but when I activated I was required to give another email address. No explanation was given, so I gave my work email address (which is on the network). Now all my voice mail is sent to my work email, not my email that I registered with. How do I change that I do not want it sent to my work email.
Re: email activation
Right click on the softphone. Select Advanced users and then mymagicjack. Login and go down to account email. You can make the changes thereshermnpat wrote:Have new magicJack & it is working great except for one problem. When I installed, I had to give my email address. When I go to mymagicJack, it only lists my home email (which I want to use), but has the voice mail box unchecked. (If I check it & then go back out, then back in, it will be unchecked again).
Under Account Information, it says "This magicJack has been blocked). Like I said earlier, everything seems to be working fine except for it sending my voicemail to my work email (the one it asked for to activate, but which I have seen no mention of since.

Sounds like you going to have to chat....good luck ;(shermnpat wrote:When I go to mymagicJack, it only lists my home email (which I want to use), but has the voice mail box unchecked. (If I check it & then go back out, then back in, it will be unchecked again).

Now it is reversed. When I go to mymagicJack, my work email is the only one listed and the account box and email box are checked. I have followed all the instructions to add my other email and then delete the work email, but to no avail. I click on "Details" in the account email box, click "Add email to Account", & then enter my home email twice, then my password twice. It then says that email has already been used by another account. I was really liking magicJack, but I am beginning to get quite angry at the runaround. Nothing the instructions say to do seem to do what they say they will! HELP!!!!!!!
Decided to leave as is for now, because at least with it sending my voice mail to my work email, everything else was working perfectly. So, I decided to just forward to my cell phone. I thought that might actually be better, anyway. When I got to work, I called my magicJack to see what would happen.
Well, it seems to do whatever it wants to, entirely at random. It depends on whether I use the area code or not. (It was originally working perfectly by not using the area code, at least to call to the magicJack, it would answer and allow me to leave a voicemail). And it never does the same thing two times in a row. From my cell, it may give a busy signal, 3 beeps then nothing, or tell me I have to dial a 1 or 0 first (which only gives the same results). When I try to call from my work line without area code, it may give a busy signal, tell me the call can't be completed as called & check the number, I must first dial a 1 or 0, etc. Sometimes it will immediately forward to my cell without answering & my cell will ring, however when I answer, the call ends. It may answer like it should, my phone will not ring, but it will not forward.
It seems to totally be at random as to what it is going to do, everthing but the correct thing! I guess I will have to succumb to the dreaded live chat I've heard so much about. Or send it back for a refund, which I hate to do, the sound is 100% better than any land line I've ever had; it's really nice to actually be able to hear and understand people for a change!
