Change number of rings for answering machine

Post by jimisbell »

I have a problem getting to the phone quickly sometimes. Is there a way to change the number of rings on the MJ before it takes a message???

What, was that sarcastic? Its a simple thing. Not like I am asking for something difficult. Just a turn off on the answering machine so I can use the one at home...or an adjustable time to answer.

It was indeed a sarcastic answer to a lazy question. The features that are included in the MJ package and the inability to change any of them that are driven from MJ's servers, including this feature, are well discussed in this forum. All you need do is read.

Been reading. But dont see the need for sarcasm. I find it usually comes from the people who have the most experience on a subject and should be more tolerant and less offended when help is solicited.

And it could have been more plesant and quicker with better attitude fro others. I earlier said, "those with the most experience" I meant to say "Those who thought they had the most experience"

I agree this would be a nice feature. Sometimes Google voice answers sometimes magic jack answers.

No question that adjustment on rings would be a great feature.
Does any know when the port/transfer home numebr to MJ feature will be available?

As with all the 'new features' they claim are on the way all they will say is soon, which has been over a year now for some of them already. I wouldn't count on # transfers to ever happen, if it does great, but I'm not holding my breath.

I use NumberGarage.com to hold my number and forward all calls to the MJ number. It costs $9.95 a month, but thats less than the $30 the telephone company was getting.
