1 year later, still going GREAT!

Post by MagicPhoneMan »

After 1 year of having MJ I can say this is one of the best of best electronic buys I ever made. I must have saved thousands in long distance calls. In the beginning there was static but I haven't heard it since last summer. They must have upgraded their hardware. Every call is loud and clear!

I have the same experience, it's been slightly over a year, and my calls have been as good as a landline. Let's hope it continues.

I'm also a bit over a year and while I can say that I'm generally satisfied with the service I'm getting for the money I'm paying, it didn't come without a LOT of tinkering/hacking/playing/aggravation. It still comes down to how "clean" your PC is and how well serviced your home proxy is. I had no problems with calls anywhere other than to my own area code (horrible echo) which they've now fixed with the last software release. But there have still been problems with over subscribed servers causing me to block access to those servers in favor of less subscribed ones (btw, when I get to the San Diego server, I have some of the best, clearest sound around). But sound quality is still hit or miss - sometimes its better than land-line and sometimes its noisy and has static. I found that MJ-to-MJ works outstanding but MJ to POTS, hit-or-miss. I'm not ready to drop my land-line.
