Problem with PNY 1Gb, PC2700, DDR, SODIMM in t5700?

Anyone had a problem with using a PNY 1Gb, 2700 in the tc 5700? HolmanGT said that he had verified compatibility of this memory in the 5700, with the Transcend 1Gb ROM. But I've tried two different versions of this chip combination and no-luck. The original, 256 RAM chip works fine with the Transcend ROM but the PNY 1Gb hangs the machine at the HP splash screen... Anyone have insight?
