Try using a USB port on the rear of your computer instead of a front port. front ports may not have enough power. Or try a POWERED USB hub. This may help.

My call log is filling up.
(little red x) ID withheld
31/12/1969 7:00:00 PM, not answering for 13926 days and 10:28:12

and so on.... it just repeats with a running time.

System must be a bit wonky. I have a dial tone, so the phone is working, just a counting call log.

OK....... apparently not.
I put the dongle in my other machine and the problem stopped. I would have done that earlier, but I was having a USB issue with my other machine, which I finally resolved.

Working things out on my own. Recent changes... I use Comodo Firewall and AVG antivirus and both of them got a software version update yesterday. I went to my router settings on line and Verizon has this proprietary page where you can change firewall settings from nothing all the way to totally secured. I disabled that installed AVG and Comodo reinstalled MJ and guess what error went away and now can REC and Make calls again. Now I have to figure out which thing caused the problem? But we should have a sticky for novice updating software that it can cause conflict and MJ tech only checks there end not the whole package.. Hope it helps others and I will update with progress. smaerd58

Update- reinstalled AVG anti-virus had no issues. Left firewall on router at none. Reinstalled Comodo Firewall looks like new version is too intense and blocks MJ processes from goin out. Will install basic firewall settings on Comodo and see if there is any issues with it................

If you're getting this error and you run the caller ID spoofer, it seems that you have to edit the proxy out of the hosts list, restart MJ, let it connect, then RE-EDIT your host list to get the spoofer to work after MJ connects, I think they did a software update to stop people from spoofing or something

I ran the magicFix twice. Many of the errors went away after the first time. Ran it a second time and got even less errors and after a few hours all of the error have stopped. I'm not sure if the magicFix did anything or it was just a glitch in my notebook, because the errors didn't occur in my other notebook, but all errors have stopped for now.

grrr,

You left out the part that none of us know what little experiments MagicJack Inc. is running in the background at any given time.

To the person that made the comments about the outsourced Tech Support wish I had the nerve to say what you did. I don't understand how any company can think they are doing themselves a favor by providing tech support like that. I am not upset with the folks in India or any other place they outsource to. But come on give me a break. Those folks don't have a clue, they are reading from a database of problems and don't speak English very well.

That is not tech support that is just providing a warm body for you to talk to, guess that is supposed to make you feel warm and fuzzy. I would just as soon have a company tell me they can't afford to provide Tech Support and just post a FAQ page. I am sure I can read it better than the guy in Bangladesh.

Yea, it angers me man, but that's what you get for $20/year I suppose. But it's no just MJ that does this, this is the fleecing of America right here, using cheap labor overseas leaves everyone vulnerable. Our private data should not be outsourced to foreigners just to save a couple pennies. There are plenty of people in the US that could work from home to take these calls and do a heck of a better job.

Lucky225,

We are probably way off topic BUT...

"There are plenty of people in the US that could work from home to take these calls and do a hell of a better job."

Actually I am embarrassed but I never thought about all the US Citizens that for one reason or another can't leave home and would probably jump at a chance to do this kind of work from the comfort and facilities of their own home or apartment.

Yea, and still off topic -- there are companies that provide work@home call agents for very cheap and affordable prices, West.com is one such company
