Backup Magicjack

Post by evereddie »

Since I am using my Magicjack as my primary home phone service, I was wondering if it is possible to purchase a replacment unit at the local store and have this device for a backup in case something happens to my curent Magicjack. I guess the real question is, does the Magicjack come hardcoded with a phone number or can that be changed?
Thanks for your reply!!!

The phone number is selected once the unit is registered/activated. If you would want to keep it as a spare in case your current one fails, just purchase it but don't avtivate/register it. When your current one fails, log onto the MJ chat and have them activate the new one with your old number.

Just be sure that you do the chat BEFORE you connect the new one to your computer.

Thanks Murphy, that is correct. I was thinking it but the though never made it from my brain to the keyboard.
