DOES ANYONE HAVE CALL WAITING PROBLEMS ???

Post by willietech »

I'm using a dedicated recent computer without a firewall or virus program. Techsupport ( chat ) does not have any solutions !! I receive an incoming call and when the second call comes in , I FLASH over and able to answer the second incoming call. The first call goes on hold with music. When I try to FLASH over to the first call, the first and second call is disconnected and I just get a dial tone. Tried a new magicjack , same problem, tried another computer , same problem. When I try 3 way calling, ( Flash over to the second call, and use ## to attempt a 3 way), the first called is disconnected and I'm still connected to the second call.
I HAVE DONE SOME WEB SEARCHES, ARE WE THE ONLY TWO THAT HAVE CALL WAITING PROBLEMS ??????????

I have exactly the same problem as kostkokid. Sometimes the person on hold will hear the music but as soon as I try to get back to the caller it disconnects...

CALL WAITING RESOLVED

Post by willietech »

After checking all my hardware, a new MagicJack, and two different internet connections, could not get call waiting or 3 way to work ( see earlier posts for problem statement ). If you trace which server magicjack is connected to (SIP and RTP) being in the 321 area code its always connected to the Tampa Server ( 67.90.16.xx Proxyl.tampa.talk4free.com ). Forcing MagicJack to connect to another server resolved all my problems !!!!! I have reported the problem via their wonderful "CHAT" process, presented the facts, lets see if they can resolve the issue. DONT KNOW IF OTHER SERVERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM , BUT THE CURRENT SERVER ITS CONNECTED TO EXHIBITS CORRECT FUNCTIONALITY. Hard to use the product when you get the call waiting beeps when you are talking with someone and KNOW you Cannot swich over without loosing the other call !!!! Hope this helps others who run into this problem
