I bought the magicjack 3 months ago, with problems out of the box. Choppy no matter what i do to it, a very long delay in response from my end and whoever i am calling, if it sits to long without a phone call made you mine as well forget answering the call when it does ring it will cut off anyway.
I will NEVER recommend this product to anyone I come in contact with (as I made that mistake already). I guess $42.65 goes along way when your scamming folks for a year . They make this product seem like its a true money saver, sure it saves you money but you will pay for it in trying to figure out what phone you need to buy and having a brand new computer to make this piece of crap work.
And customer service is a JOKE! don't waste your time with them its a robot anyway answering their calls.
Thanks Magiccrap for bringing your junk in the world for people to buy "your crap"

Which I see no difference from my Dell and my home computer which was custom built, no idea what your talking about of ISP seen as how I am completely computer illiterate anyway.

I just did a scan of VoIP and this is what it came up with, keep in mind I have clearwire internet service. And again no idea what these numbers mean for my computer and what i need to do to speed things up or what not.

Dial up won't work,Satellite won't work,ADSL won't work,etc.
Recommend cable 5MB or higher.fiber optic etc..
Do a VoIP speed test and see where the problem is.
Google and this site can provide the tools to figure out where the weak link is.
Hey, I take issue with the ADSL claim. Mine works just dandy with MJ. I am on 3MB link and have no issues. My line is clean though. Ping times average 27ms.

It depends on the computer u r using.. My magic jack works flawlessly on my old 800mhz dell gx 150 has only 256 mb of ram. But my mj will not run at all on my Toshiba 1.6mhz with 1 ghz ram laptop... I beleive its the configuration that makes the different.. Magic jack does work as long as your computer is setup right unfortunatley there is little to guide you in paperwork to get it working... I love my MJ. Also, don't expect 400 dollars out of a 40 dollar device.. get what you pay for but if you are successful in getting it working you will get alot more out than what you pay for
Likely Clearwire is the culprit here, not MJ. If you can, visit someone who has a different high speed internet service and plug in your MJ. Bet you the MJ will work there.
