I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA, AND PURCHASED THE MAJICJACK TO PLACE AND RECEIVE CALLS MAINLY FROM AREA CODE 671. THIS AREA CODE IS LOCATED IN GUAM AND IS A DOMESTIC LONG DISTANCE CALL (NOT AN INTERNATIONAL CALL). YET, WHEN TRYING TO MAKE CALLS TO ANY NUMBER IN THIS AREA CODE, I GET 45 SECS OF SILENCE THEN THE DIALTONE AGAIN. I TRIED AREA CODE AND TEL NUMBER AND THEN 1 AREA CODE AND TEL NUMBER BUT SAME RESULT - 45 SECS OF SILENCE THEN DIALTONE AGAIN. I TRIED CHATTING WITH MJ SUPPORT A TOTAL OF 4 INSTANCES BUT I GET THE SAME ANSW FROM THEM - THAT THEIR ENGINEERS ARE LOOKING INTO THE MATTER. THAT WAS TWO DAYS AGO AND STILL NO RESP. FROM THEM. I CAN MAKE AND RECEIVE CALLS FROM HAWAII, THE MAINLAND U.S. AND RECEIVE CALLS FROM GUAM BUT PLACING CALLS IS MY PROBLEM.
IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME RESOLVE THIS ISSUE I'D APPRECIATE IT.
I CAN BE EMAILED AT [email protected]

Hi rsanagustin,
but2002 gave you some bad advice without checking the details.
1. If you can call anyone else in the continental US, rebooting will be completely unnecessary. Rebooting can be a real pain in the #@% when you have a lot of network services running as I do. Try to avoid random reboots.
2. When MagicJack stops working, it is usually something that can be resolved without unplugging your MagicJack. You just need to restart your MagicJack software which initializes the MagicJack and starts a new session with the server. To do that, just click on the "menu" button, select "Advanced users" then select "Restart".
3. I am afraid it is a toll call. Current rates are $0.025 per minute. Check this URL for current long distance rates http://www.ymaxcorp.com/clec_rates.html. To add money to your account for long distance charges go to http://my.magicjack.com/myindex.html, login and click on add credit. There is also a "My magicJack" selection on the "Advanced users" menu.
P.S. Correcting someones forum etiquette for all to see is a lot like correcting someone's grammar out loud in a restaurant when you don't know them. My Mother would think that is rude whether you are correct or not. Yes, but2002, I understand that is what I just did to you.
