Electricity
I have read a lot of people trashing mj on the web for having to keep your computer on all the time and how it eats up your electric bill. I have read in other posts that on average it takes around 8 dollars a month to keep your computer on all the time. If people are so worried about the the electricity issue just do some simple things around the house to offset the cost. Raise or lower your thermostat by one degree depending on the season. Make a full load of laundry and use cold water to wash your clothes. Run the dishwasher on the shortest setting. On the weekend forward your mj to your cell and take advantage of your night and weekend minutes and then you can give your computer a rest. If anyone else has other suggestions I'm all for it cause we could all use ways to save a buck. Sabresfan
O no, this is not about penny wise. You see, it is not just the money you burn directly. Nobody ever mentioned it here, but more than 99 % of that electricity converts direct6ly or indirectly into heat. Which is O.K. if you live in northern Alaska because you save on heating. However, down here in south FL people use A/C about 8 months a year on average ( I do less, many do more). Now, if you burn $ 8.- here it will cost you $ 16-24 to cool it down. Add it all together and the saving is much less impressive.
I run my computer about 8-10 hours a day when i am around my desk. My cellphone is my primary phone anyway
