I have been trying to run XP in my hard drive and suddenly realized that its the HD I need, not the large XP.
Can I run XPe on a hard drive? How do I load it?
I have been having troubles getting XP activated because my HP isnt connected to the internet, or I woulodn't be asking such a stupid question.

If you are not living on the edge then you are just taking up too much space.

Try activation by phone. It's all automated & quick & easy.jimisbell wrote: I have been having troubles getting XP activated because my HP isnt connected to the internet,

You could install XPe like normal on the flash DOM and then use imaging software like Acronis, Ghost, etc to make an image. Next put the hard drive in and restore the image and expand the partition (or you can do that later with other software).
The problem is that XPe will give you an activation error because of the larger drive. In my upgrade thread, I mention a way to get around that. I don't personally have an issue with using an app to bypass the activation in cases like this.
Now if you were to install your XPe on a completely different hardware platform then I could see where that would be pirating the software.
