install issues - audio devices

Post by mphixson »

No output audio devices are found!
please check your audio devices are present and or connected and their drivers are installed.

I can hear a dialtone but when I enter the last number in the call, this box pops up No output audio devices are found!

checking sound I can see: Speakers CMI8738 (default) working SPDIF out working, and Speakers USB Audio Device (working).

running Vista Business, I ran the vista upgrade as well.

Richie tried to help at MagicJack, and got the registration page to appear, and I am registered but still no go..

well at least I registered and have my MA number, but I can't use it..

update...I have a dual boot system, so I tried it in XP and works fine in XP but no go in Vista Business..

If anyone has this working in Vista Business, let me know..
thanks.

any ideas

thanks

Vista sound fix

Post by crackerjack »

Delete all your sound devices from device mgr, reboot, and ideally Vista will re-install the required drivers.

Was this originally a Vista or XP box? Maybe Vista is lacking driver support for your sound devices?

Give it a try

The box has been running Vista Business/XP Pro since last April. Prior to that it was just a motherboard in a cardboard box.
All other sound works fine in Vista Business, even the SPDIF (optical).
But I did notice different things are getting installed in XP as opposed to Vista. i.e. XP lists some tigerjet USB stuff, where Vista does not.

Vista lists the USB stuff under Portable Device in system manager.

Removal of the sound devices and letting Vista reinstall had no effect. But it was a good try.

Thanks.
