Be careful... be VERY careful!!!!!

If you purchased an additional year of service, be sure to check your account to see if it is reflected.... purchased mine 8/30/07 and it was not reflected.... had to go into chat and ask the question... result was that they will add it to my account in 6-7 days...

Amazing... 6-7 days...

Be careful, be very careful... their account administration appears to have convenient amnesia!!!!

I'm having the same issue. They told me five days, but either way, I've been checking it every day and will chat them again if it doesn't show up. I think they get everything mixed up when the two are sold separately. I have dozens of emails telling me I never purchased a jack, only the additional year. I can't make any sense of why they would think I would want an extra year with no jack, but that's what they said.

Now, they have the ability to purchase the extra year from the my.magicjack.com site, which may eliminate some of the confusion.

The original purchase was made from their site as well... so I hold no additional hope that it will be any different with the 'site' you mentioned!

In three years, it'll either be perfected or forgotten. As to which one, good question, though I'm hoping the former rather than the latter.

As for the new place to buy an extra year, the sale seems to actually connect your account and phone number automatically. When I bought my second year, they didn't have that option so it's easy to see with only one guy from Pakistan working the console how things could get a little messed up. It'll get corrected. The question is how long it'll take to get it corrected.

Thanks for the heads up ... I suspected and expected exactly this issue (given how the Registration stuff was in disarray -- call me paranoid).

Have to add another Task to the Things To Do list so that this can be corrected.

My problem is that when I bougt MJ I paid with Paypal and was told that while I was in my 30 days I wouldn't get charged until after the trial. Well I was charged but then I was told that it wasn't a "charge" just an authorization and would be dropped...it never got dropped. So now I'm wondering if I will be charged again after the 30 days or am I paid in full. Also, if I don't decide to keep it...whats next?? ( I probably will keep it though)

I'm with the folks who pointed out before, even if MagicJack goes away, we still got our money's worth out of them. My voip costs me $120 a year for long distance and I'm bundled at $25 a month or else I'd get Vonage for a main line without even blinking. MagicJack, even at a slightly higher price, would still be a steal.

I would blink 40 million times to get Vonage:D Theres many "like sunrocket" ones out there better then Vonage. For example, Lingo, Packet8 and ViaTalk all offer $199 per year plans. They give free eqipment and stuff to.

Purchased sencond year upfront.

I noticed that my second year was not reflected on my account page. I chatted with tech support on Monday and noticed the correction today.

I bought mine December 18th and my cc was charged the same day (they didn't wait 30 days) and I also bought 2 years of service which is not reflected on my account. I spoke with Alicia Feb 27 and she asked for my phone # and order #. I was told it would take about a week to update it. Also when I do the magic fix thing the last 2 entries have red x's (the phone still works) and the chat rep told me to ignore it if the phone works? I read something here about turning off the SIP to make the fix work but haven't tried it. I am using a buffalo 54g router with windows vista and verizon DSL (768kbs) with 2 Uniden DECT6.0 phones. I also saw some phone#'s somewhere on this site to "test" my phone since I haven't used it much for long distance. Does anyone know if you purchase a new one and don't open it or register it, does the subscription start when you first plug it in? I didn't get mine until right after Christmas, plugged it in right away and saw that my expiration date was the same day I ordered it (not 30days later) Thanks, this is really a very helpful site and yes I think Dan should hire all you "expert majic jackers" that contribute so much.

It's my understanding that it starts from the time you make your order. I received mine on the 24th of January, but ordered it on the 18th. By the time the order worked its way though the system, my order date was the 19th and that's my anniversary date. MagicJack just didn't charge me until the 21st of February which was 30 days from when they sent the email saying my order was fulfilled. That said, the subscription date, I believe, is your order date.

I was told the anniversary date is from the time you actually register, not from the order date. I have a jack I have not even registered yet. May have to do a little test.

Yep, I was not talking about the 30 day trial. I was talking about the annualized renewal.
