T5700: driver not installed, USB Internet Phone by TigerJet?

Post by why-him »

I set up my T5700 according to VaHam's excellent guide. Unfortunately, when I plugged in the mJ, my phone had no dial tone. To be more precise there is a dial tone until the softphone starts up. Dialing on the phone is recognized, but when the call goes through, it only works with the mic/speaker, not the phone. On the menu, there is no option to switch to the phone and Telephone can not be selected on the dialog for Volume/Headset Control.

I tried the mJ tech support and after a couple of hours of mucking around, the only suggestion that seemed to make sense was to get a powered hub. I did. No change.

I note that in Device Manager, there is an entry under Other devices for USB Internet Phone by TigerJet with a question mark next to it. Properties reveals that it thinks no driver is installed. Specifically, it says:

Code: Select all

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.
Updating, restarting, reinstalling and different USB ports all yield the same result.

I note further that on my non-TC computer this entry doesn't even appear in Device Manager (with driver or without - it simply isn't there).

(On my non-TC computer it works fine, but I want to move it to the TC for all the reasons amply enumerated elsewhere in this forum.)

Anyone have any ideas what is wrong & how I can fix it? Anything else I should check?

Many thanks,
Yosh

OK, I poked around and spotted Jeepsterguy's Dummie's Guide located at http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/dumm ... t3605.html

He explains exactly what to do to solve that problem (it's towards the end of the guide). I did it and the problem is solved! (He provides a link to where to find the driver).

Why can't they put this stuff in the TechChat folks' training materials?

Thanks Jeepsterguy!
