Canadian numbers. Finally?

Magicjack, at first appearances, looks to be a no-brainer.

I am currently spending about $80.00/mnth - $960.00/yr cad with my current provider for both local and long distance land line service. So $56.99 for the unit plus one year service and then $20.00 per year renewal, I mean come on. That's almost a grand a year savings.

So I have been searching different sites, blogs and forums for about 5 hrs today and think I have found an actual Canadian distribution site for Magicjack at themagicjack.ca.

They state that they have been authorized by magicjack.com to be a reseller.

They also state that they now have Canadian numbers available, which from my current searches, is what many Canadians have been complaining about.

On the home page, before the fold, you see a banner looking type ad that says, "Get a Canadian number on your magicjack for only $59.99/yr CAD". A click on that image takes you to what appears to be a sort of 'registration' type page. Upon further examination one of the items of information they want is an existing magicjack phone number. ( Makes me think that when I purchase mj I will get an American number first ) There is also a box with a number of different "Canadian" area codes that appear to be available for you to choose.

When I clicked the "Order" text link in the nav bar, the "Order Now" image on the right, as well as the big "Special Offer" image down near the bottom of the page, I was taken to a page with a number of different payment options as well as a couple of different product options.

The first payment option is for Paypal and lists the price + tax and shipping for a total of $56.99 cad. ( which is different than that banner type ad near the top)

Clicking through and getting to the final Paypal page the price then becomes $54.99. ( not listing the $2.00 tax )

I plan on doing a bit more research, like contacting them for some clarification. All in all I think the few hours I have spent may just well have been worth the trouble.

So, aside from these price discrepancies and the phone number confusion, I personally think that $56.99 or whatever it really turns out to be is definitely worth the risk for the possibility of saving almost a grand a year.

$60 a year seems expensive for forwarding a canadian number to you magicJack. There are other places you can get canadian numbers for less I am sure and those you don't even have to buy a magicJack to use. I am thinking $10-$20 a year for a forwarding number would be more like it.

Don’t buy magic jack Canadian number I did pay 126.00$ and I get number (416) 800-9292 and if you dial this number it give you busy signal it did work for the first month only and no support, thay don’t answer your email or phone call so you will lose your money for nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
