MagicJack Slows computer down help?
When I plug the MJ into the USB port, my computer slows down to a crawl, but as soon as i disconnect the MJ, my computer acts normal. I have looked around on this site for possible solutions but I don't seem to see any. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you give more details about your computer? PC? Mac running emulation? Thin client? Speed, memory, what else is running? Is this a server? Netbook? Etc.johnny4lsu wrote:When I plug the MJ into the USB port, my computer slows down to a crawl, but as soon as i disconnect the MJ, my computer acts normal. I'm running MJ on a 1GHz Windows XP with 256 RAM. No noticeable impact on the computer from the MJ.
I have this same issue. While MagicJack is plugged into my desktop it completely grinds the computer to almost a halt. For example when I try to open My Computer it takes forever. All I have to do is simply unplug MJ for everything to return to normal. I have 6 of the 8 usb's in use, but it doesn't matter if it's just MJ, the computer still slows.
XP pro 2002
sp 3
2 gb ram
2 ghz pentium dual cpu
dell inspiron
It's a fast computer. Just not with MJ attached.
BTW, this started after a 4 week vacation where I had everything unplugged and turned off in the whole house.
Finally, I plugged MJ into my laptop, which doesn't have any slowing down issues, but it's nowhere near as reliable as it's a slower computer and I have multi-tasking out the wazoo going on.
I soley use MJ for my fax machine, too, btw.
It used to work until 8/15/09! When I got back 9/6 is when my headaches started!

Step 1: Run the Microsoft FIX
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9645377
FIX may ask you restart your PC . You can choose Restart Later form there
Step 2: Please go to control panel in Windows and click on 'Add/remove programs'. Check for anything called musicmatch,InCD, musicmatch Jukebox or Yahoo Jukebox and NERO/Roxio. If you have any, please remove them. Actually InCD4 of Nero conflicts with MagicJack .
Some time the above programs conflict with magicjack so please remove the above programs. You can reinstall the above programs later ( after restarting your PC)when your magicjack works properly.
