New member , thanks for tour help. My Majic jack will not work ath the school I work at . Cisco router , hp switches dual t-1 lines.
Please let me warn you that I am home and away from the machine giving me trouble. I just tried the Magic jack on my home desktop and laptop and it worked perfectly.
My desktop runs vista and my laptop runs XP. Both installations worked perfectly and I made calls in seconds. I have DSL with Linlsys router.
At work I can only get the 401 error. We run a dual t-1 line through a cisco router. I can access the router . do I have to open any ports or allow access to specific web sites?
My machine run XP and our server runs Server 2003.
Works fine at home . 401 eror at work.

Yes. The wiki FAQ describes MJ's port requirements.parisis wrote:do I have to open any ports or allow access to specific web sites?
MJ requires more extranet access than most businesses will allow. You're probably better off using Skype or vbuzzer.com which accommodate HTTP proxies.
