Been working here all morning in 610. You aren't running the Caller ID spoofer or anything like that are you? You haven't tried to lock yourself to a certain proxy?
Hope it's working by now.

Did you notice that 610 and 215 area codes have not been down for a while?dbarber wrote:Been working here all morning in 610. You aren't running the Caller ID spoofer or anything like that are you? You haven't tried to lock yourself to a certain proxy?

Also, magicFix reports it is unable to connect to the magicJack servers.Important!!....We have been informed that at least one of the major internet providers is having outages. This will unfortunately affect magicJack registration. Please do not register your magicJack until this is resolved. Depending on your location, you may experience difficulty in receiving or placing calls. We will be updating our customers in this space when the issue is resolved. I am down too - 630 number Elgin, IL
No inbound - no outbound (just a fake fast busy or just dead air)
noted the 'internet disturbances message on Magicjack.com but there is NOTHING
about that on any of the Internet traffic or Broadband reports so I think its just
Magicjack saying that when it's internal to them - FWIW&IMHO

It appears that many users have been moved to St. Louis proxy. Distributing the load is a good thing, but the migration does not seem to have gone well. I've been tracking traffic on the MJ routers for a while -- here is a recent capture from Nashville (Internet port, times are PDT):

As you can see, some major perturbations at ~9AM and ~10AM; we now seem to be completely down.
(The completely flat areas are caused by my MRTG mysteriously stalling; I believe that the data is otherwise accurate)

outtage
Seems like my magic jack is temporarily out. I am in Southern California with a (310) area code. Although the desktop MagicJack window states "ready to call", any call placed gets two busy tones and then silence. Thanks for all the notices, and I will keep my fingers crossed.

mine is still out (412) i just called tech support and they told me to wait awhile longer. i asked if i could release my number and get one in an area that works since i use grand central anyway and was told no. so are the people switching using a new box or is there a way?
at least the first day i knew people were working on it when it was on the splash screen.

Its like that everywhere.. One time you can complete a call the next try, the "All circuits Are BZ Now" message comes on. Its hit and miss till the which ever isp is down, gets back up all the way.. so.. those guys may think they are 100%, but I doubt it..I get a dial tone, and I call my cell.. it works, I hang up and try another number, I get either dead air, or the recording circuits are BZ.. Just hang in there man.. we'll be back and grinnin
soon (hate to use that word, "soon" MJ users hate that word).

That exactly what mine is doing...

Huge Outage?
Inbound DID's are screwed, at least in the Northeast usa and canada.
Chatted via online "24 hr support" and got promised that tier-2 support would
e-mail me "soon". It's now 13+hrs, no e-mail. No DID, no forwards.
This is confirmed with 3 MJ's through Pittsburgh and one in Toronto Canada, urlhasbeenblocked
customer.
Either "24 hour tech support" means that it takes that long for them to get back to you.
or
They have vastly over-sold their capacity. (We can only guess wich.)
Btw, while talking to them each of us asked a basic turing test for AI (trying to determine
if talking to a BOT) "What is 2 plus 2?" No response. So, where's the callcenter? India?
Pakistan? etc? (If we can find out, we could use the insult monger to generate some nasty
bits for them to read!!) <wink>
We will probablly be posting to slashdot and or dslreports today. Film at 11..

Re: Huge Outage?
Hmm.. does yours go right to the voicemail? That is what my problem is over here. I chat with magicjack people every weekend and they just "refresh the account" and leave. If anyone knows how to fix this....Please post!n3glv wrote:Inbound DID's are screwed, at least in the Northeast usa and canada.
