I don't use my MJ much because I don't want to depend on an XP system being on all the time. XP needs too many reboots to be used to host a primary phone line. I do use MJ for long distance calls and for traveling. Seems odd to pack an analog phone!
ATA use stable?

ATA use stable?
I see people are using ATAs. Are thy stable? Or does MJ make changes to break them from time to time?

I have been using MJ with a thin-client for almost a year and I would say the the system has worked very good about 95% of the times ( I can live with a few glitches now and then). Entire system cost me $110 total and has saved me an average of about $70 a month. I tried ooma for two weeks and heard very little difference to pay the extra $200 dollars. I returned ooma and kept my system.

An ATA is a device you connect to your network. No computer needed. You connect your phone(s) to it. MJ does not support ATAs, but some people have done some "debugging" and founds ways to use ATAs with their MJ accounts.degarb wrote:I am ignorant of what your refer.
What is this ATA.
Is there a way to break free from the xp computer with Magc jack?
I am eying ooma, but cant seem to find the $200 under my cusions. I could find $100.
I understand part of MJ business revenue could be gleaned from the ads--yet to see it done. I suppose they could send us news letters instead. I don't mind either, as long as not abused.
Too bad no email to push for some device that doesn't need a computer. I am guessing the t k sixthousand will push them in this direction.
I am guessing the price of these ata s are much greater than the tee kay six thousand.
