Sounds like XP with Service Pack 1 MAYBE SP2. I would try to update to SP3 and see what happens. If you still get the same error something in your OS is hokey giving an erroneous ID of itself. At that point you may want to re-install the OS.
What version of Windows do you THINK you have??
