can not boot up with MJ

my computer wont boot up with MJ pluged in I have tryed changing setup and everything not sure what else to do

Make sure in your BIOS you do not have it set to boot from USB device. If you do, you need to set that to no, or off.

I have it set to cd is there anything else I can check

You need to make sure, even though you have it set in your boot sequence to boot from CD, elsewhere the option to boot from USB is disabled. Just because you have it set to boot from CD doesnt matter IF the boot from USB option is enabled.
I "assume" you tried another USB port? Also if it were me I would try to unplug any other USB devices and see if it boots with JUST the MJ plugged in.
All I can think of right now sorry.

i have tryed everything when mj is plugged in my computer wont start I get a black screen with a - in uper corner I cant get any help from support spent hours on there is there anyone out there that can help me I tryed making it boot from my hardrive and still nothing any help please

There is no fix. Some computers apparently have a BIOS that will not allow them to bootup with MagicJack installed (for whatever reason). I have one such computer, apparently you do too. The only solution is to remove the MagicJack at bootup.

In BIOS make sure "USB Storage Device"= Enabled

Another idea is to reduce your number of startup programs.
If you have alot of slow loading programs this will cause Magic Jack not to load.

I had the same problem of the computer not being able to boot up if MJ was plugged in; the machine never got to start the operating system. It just hung with a black screen and a blinking underscore cursor in the upper right.

Solution: Went into BIOS and made sure that the only boot-up devices were the hard disk and floppy drive. (Yes, I still have one of those.)

In particular, the device that was killing me was my connected Epson Stylus printer and its media reader, even though nothing was plugged in the reader.
