hello to all !! well of course i have a problem !!

Post by thetaxman »

had my magicjack hooked up to a set of at&t cordless phones with answering machine, every phone (3) worked great but sound was kinda crappy and my answering machine would only let me set at 2 4 6 or 6 rings wanted another ring before 2 rings to answer phone before mj vm kicked in at 4. so i figured id buy a corded phone with answering machine that i could set at 3 rings and would improve sound and answer my vm dilemma. well i bought an at&t 1856 model and hooked it up had trouble with caller id first until i hooked directly into dongle then it worked fine so after reading here i guess i need to add the 100 ohm resistor to fix my house lines to solve that, here is my problem now when i call home answering machine picks up and you can leave message and hear message being left but when you end call into home phone the answering machine goes to a dialtone instead of shutting off the dialtone stays on about 4 or 5 seconds then shuts off, but there is no message left on the phone. i took the phone to my fathers and tried on a regular land line and it worked perfect called it left message and hung up and there was no dialtone heard on answering machine just the message light illum and one new message. so why is the line not going dead but a dialtone coming on when a caller hangs up on mj?

sorry so long just wanted to be clear on my situation. i also read about powered hub to improve mj and will be getting one but i dont think that has anything to do with answering machine dilemma.

thank you in advance

To be honest, trying to read and make sense of your post gives me a headache. I can't speak for anyone else. I'm just letting you know why I personally, hadn't replied.

Could you summarize clearly what your precise problem is?

Thank you.

Nobody is flaming. It's just a fact that grammar, punctuation, and presentation lend themselves to overall legibility.

I don't assume you're an idiot, I just assumed you didn't take the time to make your writing pleasant to read. After all, you DO want people to read it, yes?

Good luck.

You replied to your own post complaining about getting no responses. I merely tried to give you my honest opinion why that may be. I did it in a mature way. You did not respond in kind, because you "didnt like it" [sic].

Communication, by its very nature is a two way street.

Again, speaking only for myself, I don't think your departure will be a tremendous loss to this board.

I wish you good luck with your technical and/or personal issues.

I must now show contrition for disparaging your intellect. You have indeed demonstrated a singular wit. I'm sure your quotient used for measuring relative intelligence would be equally quantifiable.

Again, I apologize.

By now, anyone who might have wanted to help you, has lost any desire to do so.

That's correct....don't ask me when you talk like that.
I have been a Magic Jack user since 2007.
Do you get "you must plug into a USB port" error ??
Do you get "Broken Storage" error ??
Tired of talking to support for hours ??!
Lost your contacts ??!
I can have you up and running in about 5 minutes !
