Port forwarding

I have been dealing with audio problems from the start.
Always choppy audio, and echo problems.
I have read some posts about port forwarding. My question is,
If i open the necessary ports on my westell modem/router with my
desktop pc, will the thin client hooked to the same modem/router
utilize the same ports???
Or, do i have to open ports 5060 and 5070 with the thin client??

When you open ports in the router, they are open for all machines connected to that router - assuming you don't open the ports with access controls for only specific machines. All depends on what you do in your router.

A better suggestion - find out what proxy you're connecting to and block it to force MJ to another proxy that might give you better results. I used to have choppy audio and horrible echo when using the NYC proxy. But blocking it has made MJ a wonderful telephone system for me.

One more thing - have you raised the priority on the MJ executable? This also helps a lot. See http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/MagicJack/ ... o/Priority
