Re: Voicemail
Have you tried reading the forums for answers before you posted?sligg wrote:With MJ off, VM does not work. I dial my MJ number using another phone and I get a voice that says "Goodbye" and then silence.
This is now two weeks of no VM.

Gooney, try not to be so fast about ushering people off to look at links before they post their question. I was about to post this issue myself when I read his post and your response, and did a search, and still came up with nothing useful. So, whenever I call my voicemail, I get a "goodbye" and even people who try to call me say they can't leave a voicemail as well.
If anyone else is experiencing this and has a fix please let me know.

sligg,
As painful as it may be I think Tech Support is the only place you are going to get help with this problem. I personally think that a lot of problems posted here are MagicJack Server and client database corruption.
Things like voice mail and such really have very little if anything to do with your end of the system.
Don't forget the Tech Support "Magic Secret" don't give up. Give them a chat 2 or 3 time a day. By doing this you may get lucky and get one of the better support people and at minimum you will maximize your chances of it be passed up to the programmers that can actually resolve your problem.

Re: Voicemail
This is exactly the problem I was experiencing one week ago and later in the day the nothing worked. The next day an apology appeared on my MJ window stating that a 'few' customers were having problems. It is obviously on the MJ end.sligg wrote:With MJ off, VM does not work. As was stated, keep trying tech support.

I had the same problem last week. I call my number just to hear a goodbye. Sounded like a dear John! So, I asked tech people and they said it was being worked on and the next day it was fixed, so it is on their end not yours. I just sent an email to one of the tech people asking about the voicemail-I asked him when they would work to clean it up so the messages don't overlap and sound like crap and I also asked when it would be that we would have the option of not using the MJ voicemail at all but be able to let our own phone recorders take the calls so we don't need to call our number and listen to all that junk to get the calls played back. The voicemail should be an option not mandatory. I'll let ya know what they say on it. I have a great recorder on my phone that works real good. Don't need the MJ recorder.

I can't even get to the voicemail. Once I was able to get into it and never again. The voice recording comes on before I can hit the "*". Tried many times and even tried the chat and I was told they were still working out the bugs and be patient. They also told me the same thing "we're working on it be patient" when I asked why my subscription says it expires December 2008 and I paid for 2 years (VISA shows I paid it why can't they?).

Voicemail GOODBYE problem FIXED
I get the GOODBYE message everytime I try to retrieve Voicemail. This has been happening for about two weeks.
MJ's tech support worked with me for about 45 minutes and didn't come up with a fix the first time I connected with them. The second time I connected with them, they said they would reset my line on their end. This FIXED the problem. Hooray!! Bottom line, if you don't succeed the first time you connect with the Live Chat for tech support, try again until you get a more knowledgable person.

blackenblue,
One, you can hit the star (asterisk) key even after the voice prompt starts and it should ask for your password.
Two, Just a suggestion but if I was you I would not hit them with two topics in the same chat session. They get confused and distracted very easily. So go for one issue at a time. I think you will have much better luck that way. Additionally (if they still have it) the account question should probably be directed at the "Sales Chat" group. The Tech folks have enough problems with the Technical stuff, if you hit them with accounting issues they probably don't know whether to "poop or go blind".
Three, I think "ppmaster" (I would love to ask but I won't) holds the "Magic" secret to getting anywhere with Tech Support, keep calling back until you get a history log a foot long and a Tech Support person that has the skills to really help. I personally have not had to do the Tech Chat thing, thank God, but I have read ppmasters solution from several posters i.e. if you call back enough you will finally get someone that has the skills to fix you up.

Or you can bypass the tech chat altogether and email their boss-
