Hi All - I'm new to the site. I apologize in advance for posting this here, but I have scoured google trying to find an answer documentation anything about modifying a TC. My problem is this: I have a Neoware CA22 TC, running XPe, unfortunately it's locked down. I've found how to get to the admin, bios, etc... but that doesn't help. I only want to use it to connect to the internet and use to watch tv using my tv. (Hulu.com)etc... However being locked it can't download adobe flash other stuff it may need. My thought was to add a HD from a laptop, but it's SATA and the MB has IDE if I take off the DOM. Can't find a IDE (44pin) to SATA connector. I thought about flashing the DOM, but I don't know how or if it will even work, since it's locked. Any help someone could provide or a different forum you may know of would be greatly appreciated. Again sorry for posting here and for the very long post.

To "unlock" it, you will need to reset the Administrator password. There are a ton of reset tools on the net. I use called, simply enough, "Offline NT Password & Registry Editor" and is available for download here. Once you're in you can config the autologon with TweakXP in the Control Panel. Then add FlashPlayer and whatever other software you'll need. Then be sure to commit the changes before you reboot or you'll have to install everything all over again.

You could very well add the HDD with whatever flavor of Windows you like. You will need a 40 to 44 pin adapter and also an IDE to SATA adapter.

Yes, you could also reflash the DOM, as long as you can get into the BIOS to change the boot order. The e140 (HP's models number for the CA22) images are still available for download on their site.

Thanks so much for your help. I do appreciate it. I'll give them a try. Any idea where I might find the 44 pin adapter and IDE to SATA adapter?

Hey guys,
I'm looking at a HP neowave e-100 thin client. It has XPe embedded on it and has 256/256 ram and flash. Is this a good unit to use with the magic jack. anybody have one?.
