Clickclack sound with magic jack on any call

Post by Cleatcleat »

Ok here's an odd question, every time I call someone or someone calls me there's this clickclack sound. Sounds like someone going pitterpat or rapping their knees with their hands. Someone suggested it was water in the line, or something like that, causing the problem and that I should contact my provider. He assumed I had verizon phone service like everyone else in my area and not magic jack.

Anyhoo. Anyone got an idea on what this is and how to fix it? Only started last night. Been snowing the past two days if that's any thing.

You might be having problems with your ISP. Run a jitter test and see what comes back. http://www.whichvoip.com/voip/speed_test/ppspeed.html

Jitter - 1.1ms
packtet loss - 0.0%
MoS Score - 4.0
Download speed - 3.15
Upload speed - 981
Quality of service - 75%
From the summary. Still hearing it, the rapping of hands/constant pop sound. The other person can hear it too, when I call them or they call me.

Just in case anyone was curious, solved the problem today. It was the phone itself, switched it out and now working fine.

Done and closed and solved.
