MJ upgrades
Well I just chatted with MJ and they say they are doing upgrades on their end. I can call out great on MJ but when I try and call my MJ number it says the number is disconnected, changed or is no longer in service. It does not even go to voicemail. I almost hope it stays like this so I can use it to call certain people and they could never call me back. I better call my credit cards now and try and work out some deals.
I have a 716 area code for family to call me from Buffalo. I'm wondering if the weather is causing problems with any lines being down. I tried connecting to a couple of different servers and the problem was not fixed for about 2 or 3 hours. I don't know if there is a fix on our end for this being the calls did not even go to voicemail. I tried calling from my Verizon cell and my wife tried to call from her work landline (Embarq centurytel now) and got the same message. The only choices are to ask for escalation to a higher level of support at MJ and dial 0 from a landline and try and talk to some other kind of support. The support suggestion came from a cell rep at Verizon when I called them to see if it was their problem but they told me it would be a landline issue.
After 6 hours of chatting since Friday this is the conclusion from the second level agent of MJ:
Erxxx: here is the thing, this issue is related to the number assigned on your Jack, now the only option that we have is let the engineering department work on this since this is not related to your Jack itself but to the number assigned, now the engineering dept. will fix this on there end, no worries this is not a serious problem, just give a little time to resolve this issue.
...quote...this is not a serious problem,
But still no incoming call !!!

I registered yesterday and got a canadian no. (647). I can make calls. But when I call my mj no, the call can't go thru. All I heard is a operator recording saying the no. is not assigned. I spent 5 hr. with mj chat support , 3 different sessions, still the same problem

I notice now when I transfer to my google voice number after 20 seconds it goes right to my google voicemail. It use to ring my MJ number 4 times then go to google's voicemail. So I would get 8 rings on my phone. I wonder if MJ is trying to stop this and keep things on their network to avoid paying termination fees. In the process of this they managed to mess some things up. Just speculating but the problem with not being able to receive calls is fixed for now.
update on canadian mj no
They just fixed the in-coming call problem with my newly assigned canaduan mj no. after 4 chat sessions for 5 hrs.
I am checking the other features now. Hopefully they should be alright.

MAgic Jack is getting to be a lot like Bell Telephone.
Bought a 5 year plan. When they replaced my defective MagicJack they forgot to transfer the 5 year plan to my new number.
Now my service has expired. I have had about 6 hours of "Chatting" over the last two weeks, each time with a tech & then a supervisor. The last two times they have said they will refer the matter to the engineers.
So far NO results.
Is there a way to reach someone in authority who can make decisions that lead to prompt, significant results?
