I am new to this forum, but I am here in hopes you all can shed some light on this problem for me. I am not sure where to begin. I bought a Magicjack about 1 month ago. I undestand that these are pretty common problems that many others have experienced, but I have read a good bit online and none of the things I have read and tried has completely done the trick yet..... One of the problems I am having with it is the call quality. Sometimes, but not very often, the calls are clear, but other times, most of the time, the calls are choppy. I have tried changing settings that I read about on here, and they seemed to help, but it is not a constant fix? If you know what I mean. I use the phone one time and its great, and then I think whatever it was that I changed last must have done the trick. It might work for a few calls, but then I go to use the phone again, and the choppy conversations are back. I do know some stuff about computers, so I can not completely blame it on the magicjack itself. But I have a cable internet connection, that is I would say pretty darn fast, so I don't think that is the problem. I mean if I could get this amazing little usb device to work as advertised I would be ecstatic! I mean for the price, how can you beat it! I was paying over $70 a month for my regular landline, so I would love nothing better than to eliminate that bill. Ok, now back to the other problem. It is with the Caller ID function. I started off with a Panasonic 6.0 Dect cordless phone, model #KX-TGA101S. When I first plugged that phone into the magicjack, the sound quality was clear as a bell, just like my landline, I was told by the people I called from it. But,..... however, it would not display the Caller ID, when I had an incoming call. I was so frustrated, and tried what I could. I tried the AC powered USB hub, that made no difference, then I switched usb ports on the computer, that made no difference, I added a dsl filter to the line, still no Caller ID, so I gave up on that phone, and tried an old Panasonic 5.8Ghz model# KX-TGA560M that a friend of mine was going to throw away, and low and behold, the Caller ID worked on it!?!? Without making any further changes than what I had already done. But,.... the sound quality then had decreased tremendously, with the phone calls becoming all choppy, and sometimes just completely cutting out for a short period of time, or totally disconnecting me. So back to being frustrated, and not sure if it was the second Panasonic phone I tried, or my settings for the magicjack. I purchased a new phone. An AT&T 6.0 Dect cordless phone, model# EL52209. Well guess what hooked it up, and NO Caller ID again! Now I am becoming tremendously frustrated! So at this point, not knowing what else to try, I for some reason, while testing the phones, back and forth, between the Panasonic 5.8 and the new AT&T 6.0, I at one point had them both connected to the magicjack with a phone line that I had been using that has the dual jacks built into the one end. Anyway, my phone rang, and guess what....... I HAD CALLER ID!!! So as of right now, I am currently using the magicjack with these 2 phones connected to the magicjack line, so my Caller ID will display on both phones, but like I said before, I am still experiencing choppy phone conversations alot of the time. So..... if anyone on here could please help guide me thru this setup, so that I can use a phone that is good quality, so my calls are crystal clear, and I have no choppy conversations, (so irritating when person on other end says, "I can't hear you again") and I can get my Caller ID to display like it should. I WOULD BE SO GRATEFUL!!!! I will anxiously be awaiting anyones assistance with this matter! ps. one final note, I too was one of the "Lucky" ones to receive the newest update last night, so that too could be adding to my problems here. I had no contacts list or call list, but they seem to be back today. Just great!

I just wanted to let you guys know that I am trying out the MagicFeatures plugin, and for some reason now my calls don't seem to be as choppy. I am very grateful for that! Also it is really nice have the name and number display on the Caller ID, and also having the Call Waiting Caller ID work too! So far so good, so I can't complain about this plugin. I am not sure what it did to the MagicJack software, but it definitely has improved my calls!
