Hello. Our MagicJack used to work for a while, but now it won't start up; only the splash screen is shown indefinitely until I close it via Task Manager... "one minute of patience" my butt! haha
Anyway, it WILL run when Drive:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\mjusbsp\Upgrade\setup2.exe is run... but that is rather inconvenient for my parents and doesn't seem to be the proper way to run it.
I would greatly appreciate anyone's help, becuase I'm at a total loss and forfeiting our MagicJack would require us to pay a huge monthly phone bill if we wanted to enable long distance.
The only way to get it working again like it should, you have to re-install windows.

Try this DOWNGRADE "update" see if it helps..
Did you try using the removal tool on MJ site and then reinstall the MJ software?
I don't have a direct link but if you do a search in the FAQ section for removal tool, you will see it.
You could try reinstalling windows, but before going that far, I've found that Revo Uninstaller can get rid of the hidden registry entries and such for other difficult to remove programs.
I haven't tried it to wipe out a Magic Jack installation, but it has a real good track record for a truckload of other stuff.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I did indeed use that.
