Caller ID not showing up!
I've read at least one message that Caller ID will not work on a Mac, but I do get caller ID on the software MJ interface, but nothing shows up on my handsets. I've read about Y couplers, soldering resistors, Powered USB hub (didn't work) tricks, but I don't know what to try. As far as a Mac not supporting caller ID, MJ's site says nothing about this limitation. If anyone could provide me with the Magic Bullet to fix the problem sending Caller ID to my 5 handset Vtech with answering machine system, I would be grateful. Thx in advance!

Re: Caller ID not showing up!
My magic bullet was to make an adapter with 100k-ohm resistor 1/2 watt. I sisn't go to all the trouble of soldering. I went to radio shack and purchased the resistors part number 271-1131 (you get 5 for .99). Went to the dollar store next door and picked up a splitter. I took an old phone cord and cut off 3 inches +/- leaving the plug on the end. removed the shielding from it to expose the red and green wire. I then removed the shielding from the green and red wire and twisted the red wire to on side of the resitstor and twisted the green on the the other side of the resistor. Plugged the splitter into the magicjack, plugged the phone onto one side of the splitter and my little resistor into the other. Worked like a charm. After you see if it works or not, you can tape of your conections with electrical take or even soldier them if you want.imaki wrote:I've read at least one message that Caller ID will not work on a Mac, but I do get caller ID on the software MJ interface, but nothing shows up on my handsets. Thanks dude! Weird thing is that caller ID displays on my handsets when I'm using the Windows version of MJ software when running Windows XP via Parallels 5.0 emulation software. When I switch to OSX, Caller ID only displays on the MJ softphone. All things identical, One OS works; one OS doesn't. Very strange but obviously a problem with Mac software. Thanks again!
