Magic Beans virus problem.

Post by canyon »

My antivirus program (AVG) has recently begun to identify Magic Beans as a virus and removes it each morning during its scans. This began to happen after I installed AutoIt to run an area code script.

I have excluded the MagicBeans directory from scanning to stop this from happening, but am curious if anyone else has had this occur.

The reason AVG is flagging magicbeans has nothing to do with a virus. AVG is generating a false positive due to the compresion methodology employed by magicbeans and does not relate to any content in the program.

You can safely ignore this over-aggressive behavior, which is not unique to AVG, in recognizing packing algorithms that are frequently associated with virii.
