Hey all first of all I want to say what a great community this is, there is a lot of great info here. Thank you so much.
I have this on-going problem since I got the Magicjack with people trying to call my Magicjack number and getting just a beep than it hang's up and on my side I don't hear any ring.
My temp solution is to pick up the phone(i will hear no dial tone) hang up than pick up again and now dial tone will be back. Nut only for like a day or two, than I will have the same problem.
My computer setup:
P4 1.8ghz
512MB Ram
512 MB Nvidia Graphics
SIS 7010 Sound Card
Running Windows XP PRO SP2
My phone setup:
plug-ed into phone line that used to have rogers cable voip that goes throughout the house(no sound quality issues)
Panasonic kx-tga101cs - 3 wireless phones
Im wondering if it could be the fact that the Magicjack is connected to the house line, if anyone could confirm this that would be great.

In regards to your phones not ringing properly, the magicJack USB dongle is really only designed to support 1 REN compared to the typical incoming landline that feeds a house that is typically 3-5 RENs.
The definition of 1 REN (Ringer Equivalence Number) is the ringer power required by one ringer of an AT&T standard 500 series phone. The REN rating of most modern phones is labeled on the bottom of the phone and some now have a rating that is lower than 1 REN. Reference: http://www.epanorama.net/circuits/telephone_ringer.html
If you have an externally powered USB hub available, you can play around with it and see if it sorts out your issue. Personally, I would get a wireless phone setup that has a single base station with multiple wireless handsets and connect it directly to your magicJack USB dongle and be done with the issue.
