MJ Plug into DSL modem
Is it possible for me to plug my MJ into my dsl modem instead of the PC port? If I can "where can I find the connector to do this"???
I'm trying to rebuild my PC & have to disconnect my MJ from the PC for awhile & I've been searching for this wire with no luck, so if anyone can point me in the right direction I sure would appreciate it. Thanks

Sorry no can do as MJ needs an Operating System to work ( Windows, etc..)
Do a search and you will get a more detailed answer as many before you have asked the same question.
Now there are other ways to use a MJ without a PC, but they can be a tad difficult to do for some people. Do a search for ATA or SIP credentials to see what I mean.

MJ to Modem
Thanks I'll go check your advice out, thought it could be done, now I'm going to have to get a laptop. Thanks again.
Re: MJ to Modem
Why not get a ATA like PAP2T_NA (~$50.00)? You might need a DD_WRT capable router running MJProxy. A lot cheaper than buying a Laptop!anonymous-x wrote:Thanks I'll go check your advice out, thought it could be done, now I'm going to have to get a laptop. Thanks again.

To be upfront this is new (at my age) to me so I searched the ATA & went to IPPhone warehouse & Cisco, Linksy's has this price but no clear picture for me to see if the MJ will connect. The phone & the fax yes, OK I'll go to wiki & learn these initials. Have to admit that this is expanding my outlook & I think it's great, this is the hobby I've been trying to have.
Not trying to bother you but if you do reply, Thanks I appreciate it.

Lot of good an ATA is gonna do you if you have no sip account to employ with it. You'll still need to own a MJ from which to derive the SIP acct info...anonymous-x wrote:Wait I get it there's no need for MJ if i use the PAP2T_NA, right? If this is right I'm sending this thing back, man you got to answer now. Cool.
If not MJ, then a more expensive SIP provider, of which there are many, but at prices much higher...
Good Luck

Yes I understand. I've been reading through these bunch of sites while searching for the ATA & Modem. Was reading how to improve the Linksys & how to boost its signal. Thinking of making these 2 portable & I've been following the laptops so it looks like I have many new toys to aquire!:) Thanks man I appreciate it.

A very interesting site is: moremobileinternet.com that I've found for portable routers & antenna's. I hope I'm allowed to say this, it's not spam, just some added info in the search on how to connect my MJ to my DSL Modem sent to those who read this.
I'm so lucky to have found this site it's a godsend.
Thanks
