I am helping friends who want to use MJ full time & cut their land line. Installation went fine. They can call out and receive calls using the assigned number. So far voice quality is good. I've research the forum and would like to confirm what I've learned.

Yes, No or Explain

1. MJ does not offer porting of a local phone number -- yet.

2. When porting is available, the area code and prefix must be recognized by MJ to be usable.

3. Blanding UT is 435-678-xxxx. MJ recognizes the 435 area code for five other cities but not Blanding. Friends MJ assigned number is actually for Park City UT. Therefore, because Blanding is not offered, the MJ assigned number cannot be changed to match my friends Frontier local phone number. It would not be recognized.

4. IF Blanding was recognized and IFhome number was portable, it is likely that ocal friends, neighbors, family would incur LD fees to call the number.

I don't know if porting in a number will ever happen they have been promising this forever. In the mean time you may want to get a local google voice number and forward it to the MJ.
